C, was in the woods, near his home, February R. 1902. when fellincr a tree, a flying limb struck him and crushed his head. He died in ahnnt three hours. Deceased was fortv- fortv- fViroA Tflars nlrl. the son of Thomas U. Tarkenton. In 1887. he was happily mar ried to Mary Eliza Wynne, who, with six bright, interesting children, survive mm. TTa wan converted when vouner. and joined Pleasant Grove M. E. Church, South. For several years before his death nc was a eeward and trnstee. and served hia church well. Death same suddenly, but it found him ready. He was large nertea ana liberal. The poor found in him a friend, and the cause of his Lord rested upon his heart continually. We buried him in the Phnrfihvard at Pleasant tfrove mtne pres ence of a laraje crowd of sorrowing! friends and loved ones.
