PHII.O, March 17.—At last the rain has ceased and old Sol beams down on us pleasantly, much to the delight of the inhabitants of this vicinity. Rose Cook and brother George passed through town yesterday en route for Boonville. A temporary bridge has been erected over Con creek, where it was much needed, as the coon trail around the same was pretty muddy and awfully steep. The postoffice here has been moved to J. L Prather's. A surprise party was given Tom Buddock last Friday eve, it being his birthday. Among those present were: G. W. Johnson and wife, E. E. Brown and wife, C. J. Ruddock and wife, William McCallum and wife, Misses Emma Woelfl'el, Louise and Olive Eten, Maud Prather, Birdie Hostley and Bertha McCallum, Messrs James and Marion Dutro, Roy Bunch, Burt Whipple, Wesley Hunt. A royal good time was had after which lunch was served. !
