Young Seamen On South Pole Trip Members of Admiral Byrd's Task Force Which Will Explore Antarctica Keyser, W. Va., Dec. 18.—Two district sailors arc members of Admiral Richard E. Byrd's naval task force which will explore the South Pole regions of Antarctica. Paul Kesecker, fireman, first class, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Kesecker of McCoole, sailed the first of December on trie TJSS Fechlter from Norfolk, Va. Kesecker joined the Navy in October, 1945, and trained at Camp Peary Va., and Great Lakes, 111. He has been on several cruises to Cuba and Puerto Rica and is expert with Diesel machines. He attended Bruce High School Westemport. Donald Twlgg, ship's cook, third class, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Twigg, of Keyser, will leave January 2, 1947. on the aircraft carrier Philippine Sea. He entered the service in May, 1944, and trained at Bainbridge, Md., prior to serving 18 months in the Southwest Pacific. He attended Keyser High School.
