Tunison finished with two hits to raise his batting average to .299, and had two RBI to give him 77. "I owe him (Gerald) an RBI. He really hustled all the way from first," said Tunison. "That hit was a bouncer that the second baseman would have thrown me out on a month ago. Now they seem to be finding a hole." Milton left the game after issuing a one-out walk to Buen Rodriguez in the sixth. Steve Hoeme, who was with the Foxes part of last season and rejoined the club this week, struck out Scott Davison, but then had trouble finding the strike zone and walked two more Expos to load the bases.
