Pioneers fall to Erie, 6-0 Staff Reports JAMESTOWN Jamestown's Issac Alleyne. tossed a three-hitter in a 6-0 blanking of the Elmira Pioneers at College Stadium in New York-Penn League action Sunday night. Elmira lost its third straight and dropped to the bottom of the McNamara Division with a record of 9. 16, eight games behind the Oneonta Yankees. Jamestown remains at the top of the Stedler Divison with the league's best record at 17-7. Alleyne struck out six and walked only one in evening his record at 1-1. Only two Pioneers reached second base off Alleyne. In the fourth, John Valentin got Elmira' first hit, a two-out single, and advanced to second on a passed ball. Mickey Rivers' connected for a one-out double in the sixth inning, but was left stranded. The only other hit for the Pioneers was David Monegro's one-out single in the ninth inning. The Expos struck for all the runs they would need in the fifth inning. Jeff Atha hit a bases-loaded single to score Rod Boddie and Martin Robitaille and when centerfielder Rivers bobbled the ball, Ted Pichowski came into score. Jamestown scored again in the seventh to chase Elmira starter Al Sanders. Joe Siddall tripled and scored on a sacrafice fly by Robitaille. Bryn Kosco cracked his fourth home run of the season in the eighth inning for to account for the Expos' final two runs. Sanders went seven innings in surrending five hits and four runs, one unearned. Sanders is now 2-3 on the season. Carlos Rivera came in the eighth inning and gave up Kosco's homer. The Pioneers will remain in Jamestown tonight to conclude their two-game series, then return to Dunn Field Wednesday night against the Erie Orioles at 7.
