SAMPSON, MILLIE FLORENCE Our Mom, Millie Florence Sampson, went peacefully to be with her beloved Lord and departed ones on August 16, 2002 age of loved, 90 years. Mom was born on April 26, 1912 on the homestead 22 miles of Hanley, SK the sixth of ten children born to Mathias and Olava Anholt. She moved at the age of six with her family to a new home five miles north of Glenside, SK. She was employed at an early age to contribute to the family income. She married Vernon Sampson of Amisk, AB on November 27, 1934 and together they farmed at Amisk and Kingman. Their son Merlin Vernel was born on May 14, 1936 and shortly thereafter they moved to Cadomin where Dad was employed at the coal mines. A few years later they moved to Metiskow where Dad became the National Grain agent. Tragedy struck some years later with the death of their son. A transfer to Irma came in July 1945. Their three daughters were born during their residence in Irma. Mom and Dad continued living there until August 1981 when they moved to Red Deer to be near their daughters. Mom moved Valley Park Manor Nursing Home in May 1988 where she resided until her passing. Mom was a blessing... an, example to us patience, kindness, forgiveness and unconditional love. She was industrious, enjoyed her home and all aspects of homemaking and had an incredible sense of humor. Family, at all stages of her life, was her joy. Our lives richer because of her. Millie and lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Virley and Vern Gulbransen, Gayle and Wayne Austring and Melba and Brian Veer; grandson Davin (Kristen) Gulbransen, granddaughters Marti (Tim) Rogal, Tara Veer, and Kelly (Troy) Kanderka; great granddaughter Dakota Rogal; great grandson Kaiden Kanderka; brother Kasper ( Anna) Anholt of Edmonton, sister Myrtle Wright of Regina, sister Lyla (Juny) Blomquist of Outlook, SK, sisters-in-law Aileen Anholt of Saskatoon and Lois Anholt of Regina. Also cherishing her memory are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers. She was predeceased by her husband Vernon, son Merlin, parents and Olive, brothers Chester (Thelma), Roy (Ethel), Wedel, Raymond; sisters Sophia (Orville) Winter, Elida (Magnus) Lehne and brotherin-law Glen Wright. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 from the Amisk Christian Fellowship Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Amisk Park Cemetery.
