Peter P. Hlafsa
RECEIVE COMBAT BADGES Two Fresnans, members of the 361st Infantry Regiment of the (Powder River) Division, have been awarded the combat infantryman infantryman badge for proving their fighting ability in combat in Italy. They are Sergeant Melvine M. (Mike) McBride, 32, and Private First Class Peter P. Hlafsa. McBride, reared by a family living near Raisin City, was on a ranch near Madera when entered the army. Prior to that time he was employed in a car repair shop operated by Melvin Melvin Garden, a brother of Mrs.'Willia Mae (Billie) Hornbaker of 1612 Home Avenue, where McBride lived. Hlafsa is a son of Elbert Hlafsa of Route 3.
