Wilson Gehris and Michel Beltz, of this place, who formely worked at the Warwick mine, but are now employed at the Warwick furnace at Pottstown, had miraculous escapes from instant death on Monday about noon. They were at the time standint; on the platform about 12 or 15 feet high, drawing up some pipes with the pully fastened to a derrick, to be used at the furnace to make some connection, when suddenly the rope broke and the pipe &e., came down on the platform, break tug it down. The men where precipated to the ground. Mr. Gehris falling on bin head - and receiving serious injuries. His recover is doubtful. He was unconscious nearly all afternoon. Mr. Beltz escaped wi'h some bruiees in the side although not serious. They were brought borne on the 2 o'clock train. The Frieudship Hook and Ladder Company
