Girl Scouts. 45 willing adults, and' 21 Cadettes ready .to .help- and you've got the makings of a super successful" Junior Fun Day. That's .what happened at Camp Wakitatina on Saturday,. May 6th, Mrs. Adolf Kamila was Chairman of the event, assisted by Mrs. Louis Robbins and Mrs. Hubert Rivard. The lines of a favorite Girl S c o u t Song "Make New Friends" came' to life as girls from 18 different troops, all from the John Fitch Neighborhood, Neighborhood, met tq learn new outdoor skills, sing songs, and work on crafts. Birds, butterflies, and shells, were studied during the nature session, and then on to the next, where each girl learned how to set up a tent. The third skill -- fire building -- complete with a string burning contest. At noon, back to center camp to eat lunch with their own troop members and then a sing along around "Singing Rock" led by Mrs. Bruce Phillips and Diane I.ai-oix, Senior Scout. The remainder of the afternoon afternoon was spent on crafts and at 3 p.m. the Cadettes led the girls in a closing song. Then with a "See you next year" 300 happy, tired girls said goodbye to their new friends. Troops participating were 125, 550, 665, 731, 1!8, 674, 668, 729. 745, B53. 351. 744. 679. 685, 760, 751. 680 and 755 representing Ashby, Ashburnham. Fttcliburg. Lunenburg and Westminster.
