Bud ice Is Victim Of Robber Journal Special ! BIT5VILLE H. N. (Rud) Rice, 51, widely . known Budville service station station and wrecker firm operator, operator, and a family friend, were shot and killed by an armed robber at a trading post here Saturday night. Rice and Mrs. Blanche Brow:n, about 70, were shot and killed outright by the armed young ,;man who fled in a light colored foreign or sports type car. Mrs. Rice was bound and gagged, but escaped injury. ! The assailant, described as a ' young white male, about 26, 5-10 5-10 5-10 slender with a pointed nose, was believed to have escaped with about $230. MORE THAN 50 law en-: en-: en-: foreemont officers manned road ; blocks on key roads leading from the area mainly west . toward Grants and east toward Albuquerque. Budville is 20 miles cast of Grants. The shooting occurred about 8 p.m. Jim Barber, publisher of The Grants Beacon, pieced together from police and i witnesses this account of what occurred.
