Charles Cecil Morton and Helen M Deemer Morton Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Celebration set SALTSBURG — Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cecil Morton, Saltsburg, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Feb. 7. Family and friends are invited to celebrate with the couple during an open house from 1-4 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Saltsburg Fire Hall. Cecil Morton and Helen Deemer were married Feb. 7, 1942, at the Salina Reform Church, Salina. They spent most of their married lives in the Saltsburg area. A World War II veteran, Mr. Morton is a retired coal miner and a member of the Saltsburg Fire Department, the Avonmore Polish Club, the Avonmore VFW and the Vandergrift DAV. His wife, a homemaker, enjoys shopping, embroidery, and puzzles. They are the parents of 10 children: Larry, Mrs. Charles (Debbie) Bair, Mrs. Lawrence (Letha) Fennell, Mrs. Pete (Pam) Shearer, and Kevin, all of Saltsburg; Mrs. Raymond (Karen) Kennan, Clarksburg, Mrs. Victor (Dixie) Cessna, Shelocta; Leslie, Blairsville; Mrs. Danny (Susan) Duncan, Homer CHy; and Tim, Delmont. Twenty-two grandchildren grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren complete the family circle.
