The Profs will provide entertainment. Cindy, active in Journalism, Journalism, writes for the Irvin "Observer" s t a f f , the DECA Texas Diamond, the Herald-Post school page and is production manager for the Bicentennial Del Sol. In ROTC Cindy serves as commander of both the Varsity Drill team and of the Female Company. Cindy's guardian is Carolyn L. Smith of 5511 Husky. LADY-IN-WAITING is N o r m a Tubini, senior. Norma is involved with SHS and Italian Club. She is Platoon Sergeant for the female second platoon. Elected besides the quee nd lady-in-waiting are six p r i n c e s s e s a n d t w o sweethearts (rifle team and drill team) chosen to represent the battalion. Among the princesses this year are sisters, Dora and Gloria Figueroa. Dora, senior, is the S-2 or intelligence officer in the female battalion. She has the rank of Cadet Captain and is on the Varsity Drill team. She is involved in such clubs as Future Homemakers of America, Library Club, gymnastics and tennis. GLORIA, JUNIOR, holds the rank of Cadet Captain and is the S-4 or supply officer. Gloria is the Club Panel Representative for Library Club and is in Sigma Phi, FHA and Junior Achievement. Lettie Bazan, senior, was chosen Battalion Commander Commander and has the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel. Lettie was on the ROTC color guard, Drill team, Brigade Sergeant Major a n d R O T C I - N - 0 representative. Lettie is involved in Club Panel, Sigma Phi, Chess Club, GAA church choir and took first place in choir solo and ensemble. HELEN CAMPBELL, junior, is a member of the Varsity Drili team and is Cadet First Lieutenant in charge of "A" Company First Platoon. Mary Jane Reyes, junior, has been a member of the drill team in past years and is now the battalion executive officer with the rank of Cadet Captain. Colleen Cabanillas, freshman, freshman, is a member of the Varsity Drill team and is involved in the National Junior Honor Society. Rifle team sweetheart is Nancy Gamble, junior. Nancy has been active in OEA, FHA, Rifle Team and Varsity Drill team. Freshman Luz Fragoso is the drill team sweetheart. Lu2 has attended the ROTC d r i l l t e a m s u m m e r workshop sponsored by Irvin with the help of the U.T. El Paso. Sponsors and is now a member of the Varsity Drill team.
