CIVIL WAR VETERAN DEAD MEADE CO. PIONEER DEAD Meade. Kan. Nor. 4.—B. H. Cordes, 83, a Civil war veteran, and pioneer of Meade county died at his homo hero yesterday. Ha located in this county in 1884 coming from Cole Camp, Missouri, filing on land in what is now Odee township. Arriving in Dodge City In the summer summer of 1884 he walked all the way from there to the home rft hts friend, Heftry Brinckman, in south Meade county a distance ot 6t> miles, made homstead filing and returned returned to Cole Camp and moved his family here in tho spring of 1885. For many years ho was one ot Iho county commissioners. Mr, Cordes was born In Hanover, Germany Germany in 1841. Ha Is survived by elghty-seren children, grand children children and great grand children. Interment Interment will be at the Atwater cemetery near hie old homestead Cimarron township.
