Bids reviewed for sewer, wafer lines By Staff Correspondent FORT BRAGG — Announcement is expected this week of the successful bidder for the extension of sewer and water lines to the new Mendocino Coast Hospital, after the four bids submitted have been reviewed by J. Warren Nute, consulting engineer. The low bid of $25,596.84 was submitted by S. & J. Engineer Contractors of Walnut Creek. According to James H. Hallett, construction construction inspector for the hospital, construction construction is proceeding on schedule with the half-way mark almost reached. The 54- bed facility is slated for patient-readiness in March or April, next year. The formation of a hospital auxiliary vvas discussed by the directors of the hospital board and a special meeting on tHe subject is expected soon. Hospital Administrator Robert C. Taylor reported on equipment purchases, and items including cable television hookups, telephone installi^tions, and grounds land> scaping'- A letter of resignation from Director Charlotte B^est of Mendocino was read and accepted, with regret. She was one of the five loriginal board members and served as secretary of the board.
