ser- at re- his THE DAILY COURIER. CONNBLLSVTLLB, PA.--Page 5. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 27, 1845. THINKS HE FAILED COLLEGE ENTRANCE TEST, REENLISTS; WELL, HE'S IN THE ARMY NOW By International News Service. PITTSBURGH, Dec. 27. -- /Sgt Albert W. Sorce learned a esson in the virtues of self-confidence self-confidence last week--the hard way. If only he had a bit more of hat personal quality, Sergeant Sorce would be entering Carnegie Carnegie Tech's engineering school next semester. Instead, he's headed headed for three more years in the Army. With the GI Bin of Rights jacking him up to return, to -the lourse in metallurgical engineer- ng at Tech, which he waa forced o drop in 19S7, Sorce took an entrance examination on Novenv- ier IB to reestablish his school redit standing. It wag a rugged test and the ergeant thought that he had flunked" it So he immediately roenlisted in order to hold his Army rating. Last week, h* was notified that, he had passed. He's taking it philosophically though, saying, "I'm not sure it's a bad choice. The civilian setup doesn't look too good to me. If you work and get $50 a week what do you clear when taxes are taken out?" A pre-Pearl Harbor Air Corps veteran, Sergeant Sorce was farced down and captured on a bombing mission in North Africa. He has chosen Europe for his next hitch. At Somerset Hospital. Mrs. Rose Dillon of Indian Head has been admitted to Somerset Somerset Community Hospital for treatment.
