BaytIonian To Get Education Degree At AM A native Baytonian and RE graduate, Ronald D. (Bud Pierce, will receive his doctor of education degree from Texas AM University Satur about $130,000 to provide foot baskets to 2,600 families and toys to 8,000 children. Mrs. Lilo Salmon, assistan director of the Little Brothers of the Poor of .Chicago said group will distribute 5,000 Christmas packages, mostly to the elderly, this year. She said the agency is even harder this year to this nice because of the day in commencement exercises at the G. Rollie White Coliseum on the AM campus. Pierce, 30, son of Mrs. Ada Pierce of Highlands, attended Lee College for two years before transferring to Sam Houston State University where he received his bachelor of science degree in 1966. He returned to the Baytown area in 1968 after receiving his master of education degree, and taught in the engineering- technology department at San Jacinto College in Pasadena. While completing work on his doctor's - degree, Pierce held an assistantship in the engineering design graphics department. Pierce and his wife Mary , have two children, Whitney Noel, 4, and Ashley Linn, 19 months. Mrs. Pierce is the daughter of \ Mrs. Arnold .Feazle of Baytown and the late Arnold Feazle. The couple attends Wooster Baptist Church. He holds membership in the Texas Junior College Teachers Association, National Association of Industrial and Techni- '. cal Teacher Educators and the Iota Lamba Sigma Honor Fra\ ternity,,Chi Chapter. , , cost of living. "We feel even more persons than before will not be able to afford a nice Christmas." Mrs. Salmon explained: 'Our motto is 'Flowers before Bread' and our packages go along with that.
