Rites Set For Provoan, 87 Funeral services will be helc Wednesday at noon in the Berg Mortuary Chapel, Provo, for Mrs Sallie Brown Pierce, 87, 357 'N 5th W., who died Saturday evening evening at. the home of a daughter of causes inci dent to age. Mrs. Pierce was born Oct. 8 1875, in Charles t on, Wasatch County, to John Wyles and Jane Izzard Brown She married Perry E. Pierc Dec. 31, 1894, in Mrs. Pierce Provo. He died November 27, 1923. She moved to Provo wiith her parents as a young woman ant had attended schools in Charles ton and in Provo including tin Proctor Academy. She lived in Edgemont for many years wheri she was famous for her fini sewing, including many quilts Much of her active life was spen at the bedside of the sick. Her last four years she spen with her daughter, Mrs. Jes (Ethel) Hutchings, of Provo where she enjoyed the companj of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors besides Mrs. Hutch ings include a son, Raymond Eben Pierce, Hemet, Calif.; daughters Mrs. Vern E. (Maude) Carter, Mrs. Orlin (Norma Stubbs, Provo; Mrs. Phillip (Pearl) Hasslip, Pear Blossom alif.; 24 grandchildren; 6i great-grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuairy in Provo Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
