Le- rel to has to the Mabel Sunday attended to WILLIAM m OF NEAR COLLINS COLLINS — William Vasey, 86. who has lived on a farm six miles south of Collins for 45 years, died at the farm home about 9 a. m. Friday of dropsy. Mr. Vasey was born in York shire. England, April 1G, 1845. and came to the United States with his parents when 'he was 16 years old. The family located on a farm near Jacksonville, 111., and later came •to Iowa where his father bought a farm in the Peorla settlement. Polk county. Several years later Mr. Vasey bought the farm south of Collins. He was married to Aina Oxley, who died 35 years ago. His youngest daughter, Ethel, has kept house for him. Besides the daughter at home, six sons and two daughters, two brothers, and 27 grandchildren survive. survive. The children are John Vasey of Austin, Minn., Carl, Oscar and Richard of Collins, Jess and Roily who occupy a farm adjoining the family home, and Mrs. Euclid Harsh and Mrs. R. Hand who live on farms near Collins. The brothers brothers are George and Joshua Vasey of Collins. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery here.
