Mrs. Helen Curtis, widow of the late Hon. James Logan Curtis, Minister-Resident and Consul-General to Liberia, was invited by the Over-Seas Women of the Y.M.C.A. to take part in the Armistice Day Celebration at Washington. Mrs. Roosevelt, Mrs. Slade, Mrs. Meade, Mrs. Sloane and Mrs. Ames, leading members of the executive committee of the Over-Seas Y.M.C.A. women, were among those taking part in the exercises. Mrs. Curtis was the first colored woman to go to France and one of the last to return.
