BIG GUN SHIPPED AWAY The Nlles Has Completed Its Qua Carriage Order. The big 10-inch rifle that has interest- el visitors at the Niles Tool Works for the past 18 months, was shipped to the woris of the Walker company at Cleveland yesterday, where it will be used in testing the disappearing cairiages now in obstruction there. The Niles company has now completed the last of its order of 14 10-inch carriages and will ship the final one today or tomor- TOJV to Fort Monroe, Vs., where it will be mounted on the famous fortifications at that point. The orders now completed have occupied the Nilefl com for two years. The only government work now in progress there are the twelve 12-inch rifled steel mortara. The first of these is almost complete, nud is now being fitted with its breech mechanism. It is expected tbnt till tho mortars will be Cmished within a year.
