Mrs. Dorothea Betteker's career of 23 years in education includes 17 of teaching in what is now the Fairless district. Born and reared in Beach City, she graduated from the former Beach City High and is the widow of the late Carl Betteker, Betteker, residing at 504 N. Basin St., Navarre. She interrupted her career after three years to rear her children, Mrs. Mary Miller, a teacher at Thornton Junior High in Akron, Jim of Massillon and Bob of Navarre, owner of Betteker Ford Sales. She returned to teaching as a substitute for four years before before resuming full-time duties. Her experience includes includes teaching in a one-room school and heading classes from the 1st through 8th grades. In retirement, Mrs. Betteker plans to hook rugs and travel.
