Zubik TSPE Auxiliary Sponsors Show Of Summer Travel Fashions By MARTHA ANN HEMPHILL Fashions for travel were featured at the annual luncheon- style show sponsored by the auxiliary to the Texas Society of Professional Engineers at Goose Creek Country Club. Titled, "Soaring Into Summer," fashions ranged from swim suits to shorts for active sports to elegant pants suits for 'intimate dinners or club life. The emphasis on the packable wardrobe ringed around the endless use of dacron polyester for easy pack and smart looking ensembles. Models included Terri Bennett, whose arnel jersey dotted dress, featured the new set-in waistband, fuller skirt and completely non-wrinkle qualities. Kathy Keeler's white polyester with navy braid trim was fashioned in the new waistline- gored skirt silhouette in crisp white and navy. Another easy to. pack, easy to travel in ensemble featured the whisper knit polyester in tones of British cream and cafe au lait. The pleated skirt and overblouse teamed for a comfortable travel ensemble. Kay Lansford teamed the Americana colors in a flip- skirted suit with the vested look. For the Indian influence she tied a long scarf around her hair, Indian style. Kathy Bordelon's ensembles showed the versatility of the vest in a white and black soft plaid suit with long sleeves, circular skirt and red vest which could be a wardrobe stretcher with pants or other skirts and blouses. Susan Busch's final ensemble was,.a soft pink silk organza evening gown for summer dancing under the stars. She also modeled flower-power suspender pants with pleasant blouse and a date dress of voile. Edie Offield's wardrobe for OF STYLE SHOW GUESTS F. Bennett, Mrs. H. F. Moody, Mrs. W. R. White Announces New Meeting Mrs. R. F. Tickner, president, conducted the meeting when the election was held. Other newly named officers nclude Mrs. Paul Hemphill, Mrs. Mickey Pillow and Mrs. Dan Lucius, vice presidents; Heirport Mr. ELLINGTON and Mrs. George Ellington, 1403 Massey- Tompkins, announce the birth of a daughter, Tami Nadine, April 3 at Gulf Coast Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 1 Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. R. Q. Oliver, Highlands. travel included poppy-flowered culottes, a Howard Wolfe apple green knit with bias binding marking the waistline in a relaxed manner and a final ensemble of lingerie in matching gown and peignoir with lace layered between the nylon tricot. Bill Phillips showed the versatility of an all-white dacron- cotton pants suit, double buttoned for the Sunday sailors. She also modeled a basic navy linen, a Polynesian hostess gown and a pink knit with swirl skirt. Keyed to active living at home was Maryon Babin's celery knit pants suit with the touch of tapestry that is a signal for fall. Mrs. Babin also modeled an easy to wear shirt dress of polyester double knit in soft print, teamed with a Tucksler raincoat for sudden showers. Polly Beavers' ensembles ranged from the wrap-around navy-white pique dress with a complete new look to a black after-five dress of ribbon knit and crepe, styled with the new cap sleeve. Also in her travel plans were two dacron knits; one a sweater dress in cable weave and a tiered ruffled skirted dress in bold green diagonal plaid. Martha O'Brien, the club's president, began the show in the thick and thin combination of voile pants and tapestry poncho. She also modeled a smart vested suit of white with boldly striped sleeves in red, white and blue and closed the show in a chiffon and shimmering lace cocktail dress with floaty skirt. Door prize winners were Mrs. Dave Moore and Mrs. Allen Hamilton. The show was coordinated by Dean's and commentated by Martha Ann Hemphill. Among the guests were Mrs. Grant Holland, Mrs. Byron Kistler, and Mrs. R. L. Hull . . . Mrs. Jim Ferrel, Mrs. Lynn Strawn . . , Mrs. Hugh Bchols, Mrs. Leroy Masterson, Allen -Hamilton and Scheiley.
