PAGE TEN Home-Owners at Hartford Want Code on Building Will Help Draft Ordinance Regulating Construction HARTFORD, Sept. I7.--A committee of home-owners and officials of the village board are to meet with the municipal legal advisors during the next two weeks to prepare a building and Zoning ordinance for presentation at the , next regular meeting of the council, It was stated by president Elmer Hart Tuesday night after a committee of home-owners 'discussed present building leniencies at a meeting of the village board Tuesday night F. J. Manning. Wood River attorney, and his clients, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Wetzer, appeared at the council meeting also to discuss the present requirements on building. The law firm of Jacoby & Fatten reported In' a communication that the village is empowered to regulate the erection of sign-boards. In a letter from a property owner recently, a petition was placed with the board to eliminate the sign boards on Dclmar avenue near Birch street, which were causing an unpleasant condition for the owners. After an Investigation, the board was advised to regulate sign board advertising by ordinance. Mayor Hart was given authority to advertise for bids 'f6r the Hawthorne street paving job, which is to add a concrete strip between the sidewalk and the county paving. The work is to be paid for from Motor Fuel Tax funds, therefore, the state has to approve ,the specifications.
