T^ .y:,' "%, w City CfijiJnissioii Vote Request fromWood Before Judge Tfard V< This Afternoon ,«•./ EDWARDSVTLLE, Nov. 5, (Spe- ciaU—The petition, asking that a proposed commission form of gor- erhment for the city of wood River be submitted to the voters of that municipality on Nov. 17, was set to be heard In county court at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The petition, filed last Friday with the county clerk, was placed before County Judge Wilbur A. Trares on that date, but hearing was deferred until the total vote in last municipal election at Wood River had been certified. The law requires that at least 10 percent of the city's voters petition for such an election. Filing of the petition was made by Joseph L. Conners, Merle Manley Manley and F. M. Manning, the latter corporation counsellor for Wood River. The petition was filed last Friday by Francis Manning,, corporation counsellor for the city of Wood River, and Joseph L. Conners, chairman of a citizens' committee designated to circulate it At the time the court requested additional data, included a certified copy of the number of ballots cast at the city's last municipal election. This information, Conners said today, had been supplied the court Saturday.
