NORTH IOWA W. F. Matte Dies; Rites at Nora Springs NORA SPRINGS — Funeral services for W. F. (Bill) Matte, 68, were conducted Thursday in the Christian Church at Nora Springs with the Rev. Clair W. Hicks, Mason City, in charge. The Sheckler Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Interment Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd. Mr. Matte died Monday at the Clarion Hospital. He had been ill since June 6, when he suffered the first of several paralytic strokes. He had been cared for in the home of his daughter, Mrs, Ralph Horton, Eagle Grove. He was born Nov. 2, 1887, on a farm near Rudd, a son of Herman Herman and Ida Matte. He was married married to Belva Vaideva Dean on Feb. 12, 1908. They fanned near Rudd until 1918 and then sold out and moved to Palestine, N. Y. They came back to Iowa in 1921. For the past 12 years he had been driver for Dr. L. A. Bascome. Bascome.
