Excelsior Singers To Aid Orchestra Sixty members of the Excelsior Chorus will assist at the spring concert of the Philharmonic Civic orchestra, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 2 at 4 p. m., according to announcement by Philip K. Ripka, conductor. Tho Excelsior Singers is a Dutch organization, founded in 1918 by Aricn Van Rosendaal. It has since grown to be one of the finest singing organizations of the city, and has made many public appearances. The chorus comprises 35 sopranos, 21 altos, 10 tenors and 13 bassos. It is conducted by William J. Koew. The numbers selected for rendition with the orchestra are "Greeting From Spring' (Strauss) and Victor Herbert's "Gypsy Love Song," Sam Denos being the tenor soloist, with orchestral accompaniment. The orchestra has been steadily gaining in popular favor. Under the skilled direction of Mr. Ripka, a performance of original and varied character is being arranged for the coming concert.
