ball do the stall- hole In Club Boothbay Region Tuna Host For Tourney Augusta, March' 17.--Chairman Harold F. Schnurle the Maine Development Commission stated today that Boothbay Region Tuna Club would be host to the 4^h annual Maine Tuna Tournament at Boothbay Haubor, 9 to 14, for the second year in a row. Schnurle said that the location and dates for the affair were decided decided at a recent mectir.g of o f f i - cials of the Commission, the Tuna Club and the Department of Sea and Shore Fisheries. Last Bummer, more than 45 of the Naf-ion's outstanding anglers carte t Boothbay for four days of competition. The two previous tournaments had been held at' Bailey Island. Schnurle stated that several other i communities, including Portland, Ogunquit and Bailey Island, had expressed a "mild interest interest iii the 1949 tournament but that the committee decided upon Boothbay Harbor because of a "sort of an unwritten law" that a port should have the activity least twice in a row. spon- . The tournament Is Joint host club, with the Department Sea and Shore Fisheries acting a cooperative and advisory capacity. Wayne Buxton of the Commission Commission publicity staff has been selected selected to help organize and publicize publicize the event. After last year's tournament the visiting anglers expressed satisfaction over the jiospltality and facilities offered by Boothbay Harbor, and many signified a desire to return to that port in 1949.
