THEHAYES 1 GOING TO BE MAGNIFICENT, Flowers in Great Abundance and Noted Guests on Hand at Fremont, FUKMONT, O., Aug. 81,— The arrangements for the wedding of Miss Fanny Hayes, only daughter of the late ex-President Hayes, and Ensign Harry Eaton Smith, at the Hayes mansion in Spiegel grove to-morrow and for Fremont's great day following are now complete. The business houses, private residences and government offices are magnificently decorated with Hags, bunting and pictures of Me Kin ley, Hayes, Lincoln and other great statesmen. The Hayes mansion and Spiegel grove are veritable bowers of asters and flowers, flags and buntings. The wedding is to be an aster wedding and the beautiful white and lavender flowers are the predominant decorative feature. Already the city is rapidly filling with visitors and everything seems to promise a most successful event. To-morrow afternoon a public reception will be given in honur of President McKiii- ley, as soon as he arrives from Cleveland. The hour set for the wedding is 7:30 p. m., and the ceremony will be performed by Rev. J. W. Bashford, D. O., president of Ohio Wesley an university. The bride will be given away by her brother, Birchard A. Hayes. Rev. A. M. Hyde, of the First Congregational church, Toledo, a brother-in-law of tho groom, will assist at tho ceremony. Mr. Scott R. Hayes, the bride's youngest brother, will be the best man, and Sherman Otis Hayes and Webb Cook Hayes, nephews of the bride, will serve as ribbon carriers. The maid of honor will be Miss Gene Andrews Mitchell, of Columbus, and the bridesmaids Miss Fullertou and Miss Dorothy Fullerton, of Col- urnbus, all cousins of the bride. The ushers will bo Lieutenant L. J. Magill, of the United States marine corps, and Assistant Surgeon Pleadwell, of the United steamship Texas. F. L. States
