Methodist Girls to Play For Cage Honors at S. F. Hoping (o bring back with them the title of champions of the central and northern California Methodist Girls Basketball league, the team of the First Methodist - Episcopal church will go to Oakland Saturday. They will match their skill with two other contenders for the title, Trinity Methodist church team of San Francisco and Melrose church team from Oakland. The Woodland girls have excellent reasons for returning successfully. Two of them are their championship titles as first place winners in the Sacramento district and Lodi district leagues. Out of the 12 games played this season, they have lost only three. This is the first season for several years that the Methodist girls have competed in basket ball, although several years ago they had victorious teams. L. J. Shuman is coaching the team. Jeanette Clark will be captain for the first game to be played in Oakland and Edna Richardson has been chosen for the second. The squad members to make the trip include Mrs. Olive Cranston, Urith Hubbard, Jeanette Chirk, forwards; Margaret Sci - bLT, Edna Kichardson, Louise Epperson, Bernice Grubb and Eleta Abshier, guards: Thelma Sachs and Leona Sachs, side centers, and Lena Leiser and Helen Martin, touch centers. A group of supporters will accompany the girls down. They include Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Shuman, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Epperson, Miss Maurine Stilie, and Charles and Harold Eakle.
