FRANK HAWTHORNE CLARKE, Retired Capitalist and Traction Fro. . moter, Died After Long Illness. Frank Hawthorne Clarke, aged 55, re tired m capitalist and traction promoter. died yesterday, at 12:30 p. m., at his residence. 032 Nassau street, .-Walnut Hills, of paraJysia, after an illness extending over a period of nearly three years. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon, at '1 o'clock, at Spring Grove Chapel. Mr. Clarke was a native of Springfield. Ohio, and during the early years of his business life .was associated with his father, Frank Hawthorne Clarke, Sr., and brother, Alfred Clarke, in the wood engraving - business, their firm being among the most prominent in this sec tion of the country. Upon the death of his father and brother, Mr. Clarke re-tired from the engraving business and entered the interurban field. In this he waa associated to an extent with J. Harry Frey. off Springfield, Ohio, pro-motor of the Springfield and Cincinnati Traction Company. . Mr. Clarke Is survived by his widow. Mrs. Sarah Hall . Clarke, two daughter. Misses Chloa and Dorothy Clarke, and one on. Frank Clarke, all of this city: his mother Mrs. Sarah Ludlow and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Hayward, of Melrose, Mass.
