WHEAT Mar 2.79'/z « Frostburg State College, in Conjunction With its Office on ,TM e of Minority Affairs and the Black Student Alliance at Frostburg State will observe B l a c k · H i s t o b e g i n n i n g , F February 11, and continuing to Friday, February 18. The theme of this y e a r ' s program is "America: The Third Century.'- 1 .Beginning the series.of activities on Friday will be a pre-Valentine semi-formal dance featuring the musical group "Rain." The dance begins at 9 p.m. at the Lane College Center. On Saturday, (here will be a black expo-talent show. Proceeds of the event will be given to the National Association for the Ad- vancement of Colored People. The program begins at 8 p.m. in Compton Auditorium. : Featured on Sunday will be the collegels third annual benefit fashion show. Theme o f - this year's show -is "Fashions for a Tight- Fisted Person." The fashion show is being held for the benefit of the sickle cell anemia and the mental retardation funds. A cold b u f f e t will be served. Program time is 2 p.m. at the Lane College Center. A highlight of the week's a c t i v i t i e s will be Tuesday, February 15, when Carl Rowan, noted black journalist and political commentator, will be a featured speaker at the college. The program begins at 8 p.m. at the Lane College Center. There is no ad- mission charge for this event and the public may attend. Concluding the a c t i v i t i e s on F r February IB, will be a dance beginning at 8 p.m. at the Lane College Center. Also scheduled in conjunc- tion with Black History Week will be works by several artists from the B a l t i m o r e - W a s area. This special art exhibition wil! be held from Sunday, February 13, through February 25 and it is being coordinated by James Lewis, gallery director at Morgan State University.
