- Coixeoe. UnivEasinn, etc The annual ora- ora- tiou before the Literary Societies of Marshall College, College, Mercersburg, Pa., is to be delivered by Rev. Mr. Burnap. of Baltimore, author of two series of excellent lectures one to young women ard the other to young men evincing much talent and much devotion to the spread of intelligence. . The Commencement at Amherst College will be held on the 23th inst. and candidates for admission admission will be examined on the mornings of the 26th and 27th. C. Eames, Esq., of this city, will pronounce an oration before the Literary Societies, and the Reverend E. N. Kirk will address the Society Society of Inquiry. Addressee will also be delivered by Professor Shepard, of Bangor, and President Humphrey, before the Alumni. At the Commencement ot Bowdoin College, in September, the Hon. John Quincy Adams will de liver an oration before the Phi Bet Kappa Society. Hampden Sidney College. (Va.) conferred the degree of A. B. on ten young gentlemen. Thomas M. Isbell, Esq., of Cumberland, delivered the ad dress before the Society of Alumni, and Rev. John N. Maffit that before the Literary Societies. The University of Virginia, now number 170 students, seven of whom are from Louisiana.
