Council Finance Committee yes terday approved an ordinance which will permit the city to pay $1,132.85 to Wilbur Miller, 4608 Edgewood Avenue, Winton Place. Miler was shot in his abdomen when he was attempting to assist a policeman to capture an escaping criminal. The money represents hospital bills, surgeon's bills, medical service bills and nurses' bills paid by Miller as a result of his injury. The shooting occurred November 4, 1932, and Miller filed a claim with City Council last March. The Finance Committee held that the bills were a "moral obligation" of the city and should be paid: As sistant city solicitor Henry m. Bruestle was instructed to prepare a proper ordinance.
