IFIRE GO. CANCELS ORDER FOR TRUCK WORMLEYSBURG, April 10. At a mass meeting called by the Ladies' Boy Auxiliary of the Wormleysburg Fire Company last night in the Town Hall, Carl Painter, president of the company, announced that the company company will cancel its order for the fire truck, which was to be delivered in the borough on June 1, and will leave all future consideration of such a purchase to the discretion of the norougn council. Several months ago the company ordered a truck costing $5500. The auxiliary of the company, which was contributing $1000 toward the purchase, purchase, decided that this amount was too great for the size of the com munity, since the company would be forced to raise about $3000 of the amount by public subscription. The meeting was called to determine the sentiment of the taxpayers in the matter, and it was planned to take a vote on the purchase. It was generally agreed at the meeting that a fire truck is needed in the borough, since the present apparatus, purchased in 1920. is no longer in a useful condition. The auxiliary expressed its willingness to co-ooerate co-ooerate co-ooerate with the borough council in whatever action it might take to ward the purchase, and it tvas de cided that a second mass meeting be held to further discuss the matter on Tuesday night, April 23.
