A SKULL OF WHAT IS believed to have been an Indian it shown above with Richard Couch, biology instructor at the Childress High School. The skull and the entire skelton of the person was uncovered southwest of Childress by Tedie Rushing, Rushing, Rushing said that he also fouhd the "identification knife” of the Indian and stories he had h*ard as a boy reported that Indians used the area near the grave for a camping spot and that he throught the Indian died during the year of 1880. “I believe the Indian was a member of the Kiowa Tribe.” Rushing Rushing said.
