in- GIRL IS HELD ON PERJURY CHARGE Defendant Locked Up On Fail ure to Meet $300 Bond In Jeffersonville. Mrs. Mary Alice Krodel of Louisville was arraigned in the court of Magis trate Benson R. Veasey at Jeffersonville Jeffersonville Saturday and pleaded not guilty to a charge of perjury, preferred by her foster mother, Mrs. Mary Mears, Poplar Level Road, Louisville.. Her bond was fixed at $300 and she was committed to the Clark County jaU by default. Mrs. Mears claims Iter foster daughter daughter came to Jeffersonville August 18, with George Krodel of 2901 South Third Street, to be married, and swore before County Clerk Charles K. Zoll-man, Zoll-man, Zoll-man, who issued them a license, that she was born September 6, 1908. Had she sworn to her true age, she would not have been given license to marry, the mother says. She claims she can produce Louisville birth records showing showing the girl was born September 6, 1911. After being married here by Magistrate, Magistrate, Alonzj F. Paddacks August 18, the girl returned to Louisville with her husband, who gave bis age as 35, and who is employed as a switchman for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad. Later she was arrested by Juvenile authorities authorities of that city as a delinquent, it is said. The subsequent investigation investigation revealed her marriage and she was released by the juvenile authorities. Then the foster mother filed the per jury charge. The girl was arrested by Louisville police Saturday and turned over to Jeffersonville police.
