New Bank Manager Is Visitor In Bend George C. Rice, who is to be manager manager of the Dairymen's bank in Redmond Redmond when its charter is formally approved, arrived in Bend yesterday yesterday from Lewiston, Minn. He was accompanied here, by Phil R. Brooks who is organizing the new Redmond bank. Although he has been in the west previously, this is Rice's first trip to Oregon. He has been in the banking banking business for more than 20 years. After organization of the bank is completed, Rice plans to bring his family to Redmond. Mrs. Rice is a cousin of Brooks and there are four children, Henrietta, now engaged in commercial work in Minnesota; Donald, a student at the University of Minnesota; Louise, a senior in the Lewiston, Minn., high school, and Willard, who will probably enter enter the Redmond high school as a sophomore next fall. Rice admits that he is a fisherman fisherman and hopes to get time off occasionally occasionally to whip some of the mid-state mid-state mid-state streams about which he has heard so much from friends.
