Perhaps no roan was better known throughout the county than Jacob Diver. He was born at Sevenmile, tho son o£ the lato Nicholas Diver, a native of Wittcnburg, Germany, who came to America immediately after his marriage lo a Miss Swope in Germany in 1S45. Mr. and Mrs. Diver for a number of years lived west of Hamilton, whero both passed away, Jacob Diver was given a common school education and as a young man became a shoemaker, later engaged engaged in farming, but finally entered entered the grain and mill business in Middletown, in which ho continued to hold an interest until his death. During the earlier years of his life, Mr. Diver resided and carried on business operations at Bunker Hill, Scvcnmile, West Elkton and other points throughout Butler county. Mrs. Emma Rish Divor, wife of Mr. Diver, was a native of Germany. She passed away in 1894. Seven Children. Mr. Diver was the father of seven children: William S. Diver, proprietor proprietor of Midland farm, northwest o£ Middlotown; frank 0. Diver, president of the F. 0. Diver com-1 puny, Mtddlefown, in whioh the father father held a large interest; Charles E. Diver, associated with F. 0. Diver; George Diver, whose death occurred, in boyhood; Albert U. Diver, Diver, a Middletown realtor; Mrs! Elizabeth Diver Schehck, with whom tho father made his homo, and Mrs. Minnie Hugh Ayers, who passed away two years ago. Mr. Diver is also survived by a lirpthcr, Samuel Diver, of Millv'ille, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Weis, of Hamilton. Mr. Diver was affiliated with the Reformed church and in politics was n staunch democrat.
