Crash Victims' Services Set At Mt. Morris Funeral services have been set here for an Oregon man, Vernon L. Arnold, and an ex- Mount Morris resident, Calvin C. Toms, who were killed Friday Friday in a two-car crash near Grinnell, Iowa. 'A private service for Mr. Arnold Arnold was held this afternoon in Finch Funeral Home here. Burial Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery, Dixon. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 tonight tonight in the Church of the Brethren with Rev. Warren Hoover, pastor, officiating. Memorial Memorial gifts may be left at the funeral home. Mr. Arnold was born in Iowa City, Iowa, Sept. 24, 1934, son of Harry and Frances Arnold. He was married to Carol Rittenhouse Rittenhouse on Sept. 13,1958, in Mount Morris. A veteran of the Korean War, he was a compositor for Kable Printing Co. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Darci; his father; his mother, Mrs. Frances Kurd of Mount Morris; and a brother, Raymond of Kansas City, Kan. Toms Service Service for Mr. Toms of Arvada, Arvada, Colo., will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Finch Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Sibley, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Twelve-Mile Grove Cemetery, Cemetery, near Pecatonica. Masonic rites will be at 7 tonight tonight in the funeral home. Mr. Toms was born in Seward on Nov. 22, 1914, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Toms and married married Hilda White on Sept. 3 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a veteran of World War II, and a machinist for the Denver- Post, Denver, Colo. Mr. Toms was a member of the Mount Morris Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd degree Mason of the Freeport Masonic Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his parents of Winnebago; his widow; a son, Philip at home; and a sister, sister, Mrs. Ethel Hieronimus of Seward. There will be no visitation for either victim.
