Former Albany Girl Married At Wedding in Portland Last Saturday Evening. A wedding in which a number of Albany and Linn county persons are interested is that of Miss Ann Elizabeth Elizabeth Wilkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilkins of Portland, and granddaughter of J. W. Swank of Albanv, and Karl von Zopf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward von Zop'f, Portland. The bride is a former Albany resident. The wedding was held last Saturday evening at the First Presbyterian Presbyterian church in Portland, with the Rev. Fred G. Shere. oiticiating. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory satin wedding gown with long train, which was worn by her sister, Mrs. Eugene Cusick, at her wedding. A long tulle veil caught together with an orange blossom halo, completed her costume. She carried on arm bouquet of lilies. Miss Polly Wilkins, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids Bridesmaids were Mrs. Eugene Cusick. sister of the bride, Miss Donna Brown, Albany; Miss Mary Finn Portland and Mrs. Kenneth West-land, West-land, West-land, Portland. The maid of honor and the bridesmaids were each dressed in French blue taffeta, made alike and of floor length. Braided blue halos and arm bouquets bouquets of pastel shaded gladioli completed their costumes. Little .Helen McCusker in a Kate Greenaway frock of French blue was flower girl. She carried an old fashioned nosegay. James KoDert Wilkins, brother of the bride acted as best man. Ushers were: Franklin Wilkins, brother of the bride; Eugene Cusick, Cusick, James Kenneth Westland William Raymond and Ernest von Zopf, brother of the bridegroom. John Stark Evans of Eugene was organist and played the Bridal Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin. Preceding Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Eugene Cusick sang, "I Love You Truly," and Mr. Cusick sane, "Because." The wedding vows were repeated repeated as the bridal party stood be fore the improvised altar which, was banked with white gladioli and tal lwhite lighted tapers. An imormai reception was neid at the home of the bride's parents following the ceremony. Cutting ices were Mrs. Raymond Glcason. Lebanon, aunt of the bride and Miss Pera Wilkins, aunt of the bride. Pouring were Mrs. Victor Yates, Oakville, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. J. McCusker. After a brief wedding trip, Mr. and .Mrs. von Zopf, will make their home in Portland. Among the out-of-town out-of-town out-of-town out-of-town out-of-town guests present were: J. W. Swank, Albany; Albany; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Yates, and daughters, Margaret and Mary, Oakville; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Raymond Gleason and daughter, Nancy, Lebanon; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stuart and son, Walter and daughter Betty, Albany; Charles Cusick, Forest ' Grove: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lamb and Miss Vesta Lamb, Astoria. Wood is expected here while Mis. Longmire is in Albany, to join Mrs. Wood, who has been here for several months visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Alton B. Coates. Miss Houser Given Farewell Parties Miss Ellen Houser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Koy Houser, of Al bany, was the inspiration for sev eral parties prior to her departure for Portland, where he entered the Emanuel Nurses': Training hospital, Thursday, September 2. Last Friday evening Miss Arlene Watson was hostess at a slumber party at the home of her parents on West Fifth street. Early in the evening the guests, with Miss Wat son, attended the theater, after which they returned to the Wat son home, where light refreshments were served, Those attending the affair were Miss Eleanor Koos, Miss Lorraine Hill of Salem, Miss Paula Hunter, the guest of honor and the hostess. On Tuesday evening of this week Miss Houser's mother entertained at their home at 327 Jefferson street with another 'farewell party. The evening was spent informally and light refreshments were served at the close. Guests were Miss Grace Helen Looney, Miss Harriet Richards, Miss Laura Jean Dehm, Miss Dor othy Strait, Miss Dorothy Sanders, Mrs. Sanders, Miss Frances Mc-Kechnie. Mc-Kechnie. Mc-Kechnie. Mrs. McKechnie. Mrs. Virgil Halbig, Mrs. Bernice Ki- Ki- zer, and Mrs. Livingston. Last Thursday Miss Houser was the honored guest at a dinner par ty given by friends in Corvallis. m m m Miss Tripp Has Luncheon Affair Miss Barbara Tripp was hos tess at a 1 o'clock luncheon last Monday honoring Miss Martha Moore of Eugene, her house guest over1 last week-end,5 week-end,5 week-end,5 Eight girls were present at the aitair, which was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Tripp on West Seventh street.
