Sees Mysterious Shower Honey Dew Mr. J. T. Walden tells a unique ex- perionce with tho mysterious phenomenon, sometimes designated as "honey dew." Saturday afternoon about 2:30 o'clock, while the atmosphere was elear and the wind blowing, Mr. Walden was making a near cut on foot through a Wooded section about four miles north of Statesville, when he felt a mist in his face. He thought of rain, but looked up into a cloudless sky; he then/looked down and saw that the leaves were wet. Slightly puzzled, he kept going until he reached the destination of his business visit to that community. On his return to Statesville, he made it a point to come through the same wooded area. The leaves were Wet with a sticky substance, having the appearance of having been sprayed on the leaves. In some instances the sticky coating was almost thick enough to run. He touched a leaf to his mouth and found that it was sweet. The section of woods where the leaves- were coated with aweei covering was 60 to 100 feet wide. Is this honey dew? Where did it come from ? Why was the mysterious "dew" confined to so small an area? are among the questions that arise Mr. Walden was displaying one oJ the honey-coated leaves here today
