MsCHaxicsburo, O., Oct. . Special. Since the murder of Ora Near last night, by John Potts, this village has been one of anxious excitement. JSoon after the flight of Potts posses of men formed and departed in all directions to try and rapture him, but up to this hour he is still at large. At about 1 o'clock last night he was at the bouse of his brother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother-in-law, James Manesfield, ubout seven miles east, and persuaded Manesfield to ga to Potts' house to got his clothes. Mansfield was on his way to Potts' house, whet a posae stopped him and learned that he bid just left Potts at his bouse. The party took Manesfield inharge and went liaok. but Potts had fled, and nothing further has been heard of niiu. Thu murder was in cold blood. 'eer and Potts, with a number of others, were at William Clancy's pool rooms. Both Neer and Potts were somewhat under the influence influence of liquor, and were seated close bv each otner, when Neer said to Potts: "Potts. you . give me a chew of tobacco." Potts Kave him the tobacco, and bile Neer was biting off the tobacco. Potts stabbed him four times, once in the rigbt breast, once in tbe left breast, once in the left shoulder and on the lett arm. Neer did not complain, and no one seemed to know he was hurt until he fell from his chair behind the stove, some three minutes after being staobed. Potts was still in the room at that time, but immediately fled. eer died .inside of fifteen minutes. He was tb support of a widowed mother and a brother, but had become very dissitmted, and It is reported that there was ill-feeling ill-feeling ill-feeling between them on account of a girl of loose morals. The Town Council will undoubtedly olfer a reward at their meeting Monday evening evening for tbe arrest of Potts. Coroner Dowell is holding an inquest.
