Marshall has about decided to enter the field as a candidate alderman in the Third ward to L. C. Scribner. The latter gentleman will also be in the field for re-election. The same office will be contested by Jas. W. Moxon, whose papers now being circulated. T. H. Hanna, who was one of best mayors Stevens Point ever and whose name has been mentioned for that office this spring, baa deter* mined to not enter the race. Papers have been circulated for Walters, and the name of Fred J. Blake has also been mentioned, but latter has not as yet decided as to candidacy. John Biesik, a resident of the 4tb ward, announces his candidacy for comptroller, making five in the field for that office at present, and possibly the returns are not yet all in. The present supervisors, John McDonald, in the 1st ward, G. Mansur in the 2nd, F. M. Play the 3d, Joseph Mozuch in the 4th, B. Carpenter in the 5th and G. Aldrich in the 6th, will no doubt in the field again. Two assessors are to be elected succeed L. P. Moen and John Gor-; nowicz. Mr, Moen will be in the race, out not Mr. Gornowicz, and the of John W. Strope is mentioned. i Mayor P. H. Casbin has definitely; decided to become a candidate for comptroller St the election to be held [Apr. 5th, and his nomination papers will be filed in due time.
