An Ancient road across which the early Oakland pioneers hauled redwood logs to construct early Oakland, winds along the slopes of Oakmore Highlands... Along the road, still in a good state of preservation, are found clumps of young redwood trees - trees from 20 to 40 years old, all in the Oakmore Highlands park. Engineers in subdividing Oakmore Highlands are preserving, as far as possible, the delightful meanderings of the ancient road in and out of oak and redwood, buckeye and bay trees.
