Doctor Degree Earned By Former Ogdenite A native of Ogden and former ' teacher in the Weber Schoo: District has received a doctoral degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M. Victor Ferre, the son of Mr and Mrs. Alvin Ferre of 1176 E. 3850 S., has earned the degree in educational administration and curriculum and instruction WSC GRADUATE A 1967 graduate of Weber State College, he -received a master degree in elementary curriculum and instruction from Utah State University in 1970 and also did graduate work at Brigham Young University. In his doctoral thesis, dealing with accountability in education, D r . Ferre devised and evaluated new approaches to mathematics in the Las Cruces schools. While attending New Mexico State, Dr. Ferre served as associate editor of "Education New Mexico," a newsletter distributed to all state department department of education personnel and state school administrators. He completed internship with the superintendent and district personnel in Las Cruces Public Schools and is currently coordinator coordinator of the Native American Indian Institute at New Mexico State. IN FALL In the fall, Dr. Ferre, who is married to the former Louise Taylor o£ Ogden, will assume an administrative position in the Illinois Public School system. Mrs. Ferre, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Taylor, 1763 Washington, is a graduate of Weber State College. She taught in Weber School District and at S t e v e n s Henager College.
