CARIJ JCNCTION ITEMS. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Holman spent Sunday at Carthage, Jam%s Johnson of Joplin spent Monday night with Mr. and Mrs. Holman. I Mrs. Charles ,Hawk and son visited in Kansas City Sunday. Dr. Alberty made a business trip (to Springfield Sunday afternoon, returning Monday night. Miss Vehna Johnson of Oronogo spent Saturday and Sunday with Goldle Miller. Mrs. .lames Stanley took dinner with Mrs. C. H. Cooper Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Merrick and family of Lawton, Kan., visited Mrs. Merrick's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bennett Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Miller entertained at dinner Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. G, W. Johnson and daughter, Beulah, and Miss Velma Johnson. Mrs. Amos Allen and Mrs. Rending visited Mrs. Alberty Wednesday. Mrs. Bert Hoel gave a surprise dinner for Mr. Hoel last Sunday, the occasion being his birthday. A number of friends were present. Earl Hamby has purchased William Ireland's property on Joplin street and moved in this week. Mrs. Alberty visited at the J. M. Owen home In Joplin last Sunday afternoon. "The. Rev. and Mrs. G. M. Foster have returned from Pennsylvania. They report a fine trip. Mr. Amos, accompanied by his son, Marian, and Lloyd Alberty, drove to Springfield last Sunday. The boys will enter the Drury college. Loyd and Marian are members of the class of 1D24 of the Carl Junction high school.
