He received his education education hi the Lohrville schools. and was graduated with the class of 1951. After graduation, he assisted his father on the farm, and in 1953 entered the armed services, spending spending a year in Japan, and received his honorable discharge in 1955. He was employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission, working out of Sioux Citv.
