Edgemont, Pioneer Ward Scouts Get Eagle Badges Two boys from Edgemont 7th ward have recently received their Eagle Scout awards at ceremonies in the East Sharon Stake. In addition one young man received his Bronze Palm. There are now 25 Eagle scouts in the ward. Mark Petersen, 13, is the son of scoutmaster Birk Petersen. He is an active outdoorsman, enjoys hunting and working on the farm with his grandfather in the summer months. He has served in the scout troop as Patrol Leader, Asst. Senior Patrol Leader and, Senior Patrol Leader and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. Scott Hansen, 13, is the son of asst. scoutmaster Wayne Hansen. He has served as Patrol leader and as a counselor in his Deacons Quorum. He has received an individual priesthood award and is a good Teacher's Quorum president and has served as a full time missionary during the summer months in Arizona. His hobbies are art, basketball and other sports. He is a senior at Orem High School. Dennis L. Jones, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Jones, has received the Eagle Scout award at Court of Honor ceremonies held in the Pioneer Ward Chapel. Dennis is a member of Troop 58 of the Provo llth Ward. This is the first Eagle Scout awarded in this ward in over 14 years. Dennis has served as Senior Patrol Leader, patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, librarian, scribe and treasurer. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow. In school Dennis serves as seminary class president. He likes to hunt, fish and camp.
