BRADLEY STATEMENT DENIED Truman Reaffirms Plan To End Segregation In Armed Forces [By The Associated Press) TTtTASHINGTON, July 29 — '' President Truman said today his "equality of treatment and opportunity" order for the armed services is aimed at the eventual end of race segregation in the Army. Negroes are now kept in separate separate units in the Army. A reporter reporter at Mr. Truman's weekly news conference said that Gen. Omar Bradley has been quoted as saying saying he favors segregation among the lower echelons. Is that consistent with the President's President's "equality" order of last Monday? He was asked.
