Bob Wills' Famous Name Band Plays Here November 20 Topping the full entertainment season sponsored by the Glynn Moore Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be the appearance appearance here of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, the first name band ever to play in Wellington. This dance will be held Wednesday Wednesday night, November 20, at the community building, Russell Yates, who is in charge of arrangements, has announced. Rated as the most popular band in the United States last year, Bob Wills and his 11 piece orchestra is already familiar to Collingsworth Collingsworth Countizms through his radio broadcasts and recordings. The V- FW believes that the opportunity to hear this popular band leader in person will be an entertainment treat for people of this and surrounding surrounding counties that will not be topped in this part of the Panhandle Panhandle this year. "Wellington is the only small town in the state to book Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, and we were unusually lucky to do this," Mr. Yatcs declared. "Bob Wills plays all types of music, from swing to sweet, and when you come to hear him Wednesday Wednesday night, you're going to hear what you like." Recognizing that there arc many people of the county who will want to hear this orchestra but who do not care to dance, Mr. Yatcs is providing plenty of comfortable seats to care for this group. No advance has been made in the admission price. In addition to those from this county who will attend, the dance is being advertised in all adjoining adjoining counties and entertainment- seekers from the entire lower Panhandle Panhandle are expected to be on hand.
